Credit and top-ups
How prepaid credit works, and how to put more in.
How credit works
You hold credit with Kili and spend it as you issue. Every eSIM debits your balance at your agreed rate, which is usually well under what the customer pays you — that difference is your margin, and you keep it.
Credit is held per currency. If you top up in birr and sell a dollar plan, the two balances are shown separately rather than being added together at a rate that was true on some other day.
Topping up
- Open Wallet, then Top up.
- Pick an amount or a credit package.
- Send the payment by the method shown.
- Kili credits your balance once the money has actually arrived.
Note
Topping up is a request, not an instant transfer. A bank transfer can take a day; your balance moves when the money does, not when the request is sent.
Running out mid-sale
If your credit will not cover a sale, the counter refuses it rather than issuing something you have not paid for. Top up, or take the sale through your storefront where the guest pays Kili directly.
